Pentagon orders officials to submit all documents on Ukraine aid freeze
The Pentagon's Office of General Counsel has ordered officials to send all documents and communications about military aid to Ukraine “for cataloguing and review,” the top Defense Department spokesperson said today, adding that this is standard practice for high-profile issues. The documents could play a role in the House's impeachment inquiry, launched after President Donald Trump appeared to make military aid to Ukraine conditional on officials investigating Trump’s political rivals, including former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. “Today, the general counsel of the department, in keeping with past practice on matters of importance and to ensure that all appropriate department information is available on this matter directed that DoD offices should provide any pertinent documents and records to the Office of General Counsel for cataloguing and review,” Pentagon spokesperson Jonathan Hoffman told reporters.
